Aloha!
I grew up on the island of Oahu where I spent my childhood at the beach, surfing, skateboarding, hiking, jumping off of waterfalls, and exploring. My dad never left home without a camera and joked that he spent all of his money on film and gas. From a young age, my brother and I learned the importance of photography. One of my favorite photos of all time, is of 4 year old me, with an orange stained ring around my mouth, after eating a Raposa mango at Makapu’uu Beach.
After receiving my Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Hawaii, at Manoa, in 2012, and giving birth to my first daughter shortly after, I decided that I needed a career that involved working with people and sharing aloha. With an undying love for Hawaii and a passion for photography, I created Stephanie Hughes Photography, LLC.
I began my photography career in 2013, photographing weddings, and now offer a variety of additional photography services to include studio and real estate photography. I love experimenting with lighting techniques, long exposure and time lapse. I’ve done workshops with some of the world’s greatest photographers. I believe that photography should be affordable and everyone should have beautiful portraits (especially of their children). When I’m not shooting, I’m homeschooling or playing with my three amazing kids, or in the kitchen (which is one of my other passions).
